Operating a ship in cold or icy conditions requires an advanced set of skills and lots of preparation from both the crew and the vessel. In addition to decreased crew efficiency heavy weather conditions can cause various types of damage to the ship’s equipment and pipelines especially those on the deck. If proper precautions are not taken serious issues such as oil spills which are unfortunately common in cold climates could arise. This course provides crew training on ships operating in these conditions. The main objective is to showcase robust safety protocols to minimize the risk of accidents and ensure that crew and the environment remain safe.
