Training required for:
Employees of a culturally and interpersonally diverse workforce, who may work under high-stress conditions where effective communication, problem-solving and teamwork are essential. Mixed levels of familiarity with neurodiversity.
Course Description:
This module on Neurodiversity at Work is designed to help people learn what the term ‘neurodiversity’ means and how different thinking styles can influence communication and behaviours in everyday work and interpersonal relationships. People will gain an understanding of common neurodivergent conditions, the challenges neurodivergent colleagues may experience and the strengths they bring at work. We’ll also look at practical workplace adjustments, essentially simple strategies that can help people support different cognitive styles and create a more inclusive work environment.
Learning objectives:
At the end of the training course the participant shall:
· define the term neurodiversity
· describe how neurodiversity may affect communication and behaviour
· use adjustments and accommodations to support diverse cognitive styles
· differentiate common neurodivergent profiles(i.e., autism, ADHD, etc.)
· evaluate workplace situations that may need adjustments
· develop an understanding of the challenges neurodivergent colleagues may face
