This course covers the practical aspects of extinguishing electric vehicle fires onboard ferries and pure car carriers. The goal is to have a better understanding of the causes of ignition and to have the essential prevention measures in place.

   At the end of the training course the participant shall:

·        Understand design and causes of ignition of lithium-ion batteries.

·        Know measures to prevent fires on vehicle carrier ships.

·        Understand features of electric vehicle fires.

·        Know methods for extinguishing fires of electric vehicles.

·        Apply best practices of electric vehicles fire suppression on ships.

·        Understand the problems and specifics of electric vehicle firefighting.
