Course Overview

The course was developed specifically for learners to understand the requirements for the VGP while being in the US waters. The purpose of this course is to ensure that all Personnel is provided with the guidance regarding the discharges subject to VGP regulations. The crew must also be able to distinguish the ones not following VGP requirements and the corresponding penalties and reporting procedures prior to arrival in US ports.

4: The National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES)

5: The Vessel General Permit (VGP) and small Vessel General Permit (sVGP)

6: The Vessel Incidental Discharge Act (VIDA)

Target Audience:

All officers with specific duties prior to arrival in the US ports for to understand the requirements of the VGP.
