Course Overview

A programme of training approved by The Bahamas Maritime Authority and meeting the requirements laid down in Regulation V/2.8 of The International Convention on Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping for Seafarers 1978, as amended (STCW) and STCW Code Sec A-V/2.4. This certificate is issued in accordance with the provisions of STCW Regulation Table A V/2-2. 

Target Audience:

All personnel designated on muster lists to assist passengers in emergency situations

Learning objectives: 

  1. Organise the safe movement of passengers when embarking and disembarking 
  2. Organise shipboard procedures in case of an emergency 
  3. Optimize the use of resources on board 
  4. Control the response to emergencies 
  5. Control passengers and other members of staff in an emergency 
  6. Establish and maintain effective communication

To successfully complete this STCW-BMA accredited course, participants must:

  1. Successfully complete the course payment via the eShop.
  2. Submit the STCW Certificate Application Form.
  3. Achieve a minimum score of 70% on the final assessment (two attempts are allowed).
  4. Complete the authentication process to verify their identity.

The final assessment is monitored using Proctoring Tool to ensure compliance and integrity. Proctoring software supervises the assessment by:

  • Webcam monitoring identity verification,
  • Tracking browser and screen activity,
  • Detecting audio and application usage.

Any suspicious activity or failure to comply with these requirements may result in disqualification from the assessment, and the course will be considered failed. More details about the Proctoring procedure can be found inside the course.
