Course Description:

This course is designed to familiarize Mariners with the existing IALA Maritime Buoyage System to develop the skills and facilitate navigation anywhere in the world to avoid dangers and to fix the position of the vessel. The definition of the cardinal system for dangers fencing is given, as well as two existing lateral systems (A and B) depending on the region to mark the safe or navigable water as a fairway, to fence the sides on channels, or the preferred channel.

At the end of the training course the participant shall:

• Identify the Regions for Part A and Part B buoyage system
• Recognize the symbols of cardinal marks
• Understand the meaning of the cardinal marks
• Identify the special marks
• Identify 3 lights and their meaning
