Course Description:

This course provides essential knowledge and practical skills for maintaining safety on board ships. It covers common hazards at sea, proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), safe work practices, effective housekeeping, and emergency preparedness. Through real-life scenarios and regulatory guidelines, participants will learn how to prevent accidents, respond to emergencies, and foster a safety-first culture on board

Learning objectives:

At the end of the training course the participant shall:

·        Identify common hazards on board ships and their associated risks.

·        Apply safe work practices during operations such as mooring, cargo handling, and working aloft.

·        Demonstrate correct use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for various tasks.

·        Follow procedures for enclosed space entry, hot work, and emergency situations.

·        Explain the importance of housekeeping and maintenance in preventing accidents.

Respond appropriately during drills and real emergencies (fire, abandon ship, man overboard).
