Course Description:
This training is for anyone working in the maritime industry, offshore, port operations, training, or ashore.
The aim is to familiarize yourself with potential maritime crises, how to respond to them procedurally, as well as how to regulate cognitive and emotional responses during a crisis, and effective leadership.
Learning objectives:
At the end of the training course the participant shall:
· Identify a crisis situation
· Identify examples of crises in the maritime context, understand the importance of drills, training, and apply principles of learning to making these effective
· Understand the conditions necessary to preparing for a crisis
· Analyse a crisis situation to prioritize needs, understand info-processing and decision-making styles
· Understand emotional responses during a crisis and how to regulate these
· Apply leadership skills to a crisis situation, and understand what behaviours to avoid
· Understand what should follow after a crisis
