Course Description:

The course was developed specifically for all learners boarding their respective vessels as members of various transfer and disposal operations.

This course ensures that all Personnel involved in the handling of waste of oil is fully familiar with the following:

 – Harmful Effects

 – Seafarer’s Role

 – Appropriate Response and SOPEP requirements

 – MARPOL regulations and penalties

   Learning objectives:

At the end of the training course the participant shall:

·       Understand the harmful effects of an oil spill to the marine environment

·       Describe the seafarer’s role to prevent oil spills

·       Apply the proper response to marine oil spills

·       Describe the MARPOL SOPEP objectives and its application

·       Explain the existing anti-pollution regulations and their enforcement
